I am currently installing Counter Strike: Source on my dad’s laptop. I’ve been waiting to get this game for months and I finally had money with me to get it. I also bout some old war movies for like $5. Not bad at all. I’ve been ripping some of Ryan’s music to dad’s computer because he has the best music collection I’ve seen.
Shelly’s fixing some pork chops and we should be leaving tomorrow, so I’ll post again once we’re home. Oh, one last thing, OU barely beat the Ducks last night! It was a close game, and Shelly was yelling at the TV the whole game. TTYL.

Well, this Christmas was great. We left Crowley Saturday Morning. The trip went well, we got to Healdton about 6PM. Shelly didn’t know that we were coming, so she had a great suprise as you can see below.
Surprise!
After that, we watched It’s a Wonderful Life. The movie was great, and then we went home. On Christmas day, we ate at Marilyn and Dewayne’s house. The food was great!
Christmas Diner
Niki’s dog had 3 puppies, so I got to play with them:
Doggies Doggies 2 Doggies 3

On Monday, we went to see Grandpa. I had a great time watching Dad fight with his sister like Shell and I do.
Fight1 Fight2 Fight3
Fight4 Fight5 Fight6
Fight7
After the fight, George presented me with my Christmas present from him, a single pump air rifle- one that looks and feels the same as a .22.
Ma Gun
Tuesday, we went down to Eldorado to see my grandma who we call Mama (That’s Maw-maw).
Mama and I
We ate supper togather and had a great time. I went with Uncle Terry to hit some golf balls and hit one farther than he did with a 4 iron. Tonight we are going over to Marilyn and Dewayne’s house to watch OU play. We are going back to Louisiana Saturday. I should post again before we leave. Oh, and Cammi, I know you’ll read this, so click here to download Shareaza, that’s “how you download music”. :P

If you don’t listen to the wonderful Security Now podcast, you most likely haven’t heard of Hamachi. Since finding about about it, I have to say it is one of the coolest creations on the the Internet.
Hamachi is a new peer-to-peer (P2P) tunneling network that allows you to make a network out of thin air. Your assigned a static 5...* ip address with your user name, and then you can create a network with 2 clicks! You just name the network, give it a password, and your done! For others to get on your network, they just have to click on “Join Network”, put in the name and password, then they are on your network! What makes Hamachi so great is that it works around NAT firewalls! I can use this to access my double firewalled computer in Louisiana, while I’m in Oklahoma! This may not seem exciting to you, but if you’ve ever had to deal with setting up remote networks, you’d be as happy with this as I am.
I put a web server on my computer, Abyss, and UltraVNC. I also assigned a DynDNS domain to my Hamachi IP address so that I could easily remember it. I am hosting a website within a virtual network on the Internet, now that’s just too cool. You can finally make your own network of friends, you could go so far as to making your own DNS system to make your own domains!
Hamachi is something everyone should be looking at, and since it’s easy, and free, why wouldn’t you?

I am sick today so I haven’t done much all day. I started playing with my Yahoo account and I’ve decided to integrate some of the different web services I use into the site. First thing is to do is make a nice, clean version of Yahoo! Calendar, but I don’t know how I’ll scrape the content unless I do a lot of custom coding.
I’m also working on a new website that should be ready soon that will be my own little “web services” web site. Don’t know how it will work out, but I think it will be cool once it’s complete. If nothing else, I can use the code for future company design jobs.

The co-founder of Wikipedia is starting his own encyclopedia, that sounds like something Wikipedia should have been to start with. His encyclopedia will have a public article section, and then articles that are approved or written by a real expert in the field. The idea is that you can trust the approved ones, because these have someone to vouch for them. That’s the problem with Wikipedia. An expert may have written the article, but how do you know if it’s true? There’s no stamp of approval for Wikipedia, that’s why you have these problems.
When the pope’s photo gets replaced by one of Senator Palpatine, then you know the system is flawed. I think a good way of controlling content is to have a ranking system in place where a person who provides good content, and has articles that have been approved, then this person can become a “mini-moderator”. This person edit some articles that have been locked from public editing, but may not be complete, such as a terrorist attack article, you would most likely be able to trust an approved author over someone who heard something from someone on the news.
A lot can be said about this new encyclopedia, and I think it is a great step towards making the best resource available in the world, free.
