Matt,
I’ve never met your Dad. But, he was obviously a great man who loved his son very well. He’s probably looking down from heaven right now, and smiling down at his son who is making him proud more and more every day. Jesus has probably patted him on the back and told him he did a fine job at raising a son who is following His will above everything else.
He probably watches you drive and wishes you would slow down, and I’m sure he probably laughs at the day to day problems you face, and how you deal with them in relation to what he would have done.
He’s probably waiting to see what happens next in your life with hope and excitment. He probably wishes he could hug you now more than ever. I’m sure you feel the same.
This will be a rough day, but it’s okay. Just keep in mind he is still alive, and you will get to see him again one day. And you know what? When Jesus says “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” your dad will probably have the biggest smile on his face.
I didn’t know your dad, but I know his son. And if your any reflection of your dad, then he was a fine person and the world has lost a wonderful man.
