MySpace has been suffering by problems other than idiotic teenagers and twenty somethings, the site has been slow, and images haven’t been showing properly. This was a announcement posted about 30 minutes ago:
“Tom, photo uploads are slow and I’m seeing red x’s!”
sorry, we’ve had a glitch and photo uploads are taking longer to process than normal. after you upload, there’ll be a longer delay, but the images will show up, so please don’t upload twice.. that just exacerbates the problem.

Exacerbates? Come on Tom, your audience doesn’t know what that means, they will think your making some sexual reference. Use simple words and emoticons next time, okay?

Notice something different? I’ve finally updated the site after way too long. I’ve actually done more than find some template and slap my name on it this time. I’m not running Wordpress for the first time in years. I’m now using Textpattern and I hope that I don’t have to go back to Wordpress ever again. Textpattern is the Linux of blogging platforms, not too easy to get into, and has a lot of weird commands; but it does the job right, doesn’t have a bunch of overhead, and can be customized to fit your needs.
The design of the site is simplex2 by Ganesh Gunasegaran. I don’t like to do web design anymore so I just found this layout as wonderful so I themed it for Textpattern and made a few slight changes to it.
With this site, I decided to split it into 3 sections, versus one big section with a lot of categories. You have blog, vlog, and moblog to choose from.
My blog, is well, my blog entries. This post, for example goes into the blog section. Funny YouTube videos and other junk also go here. The vlog section is my new video blog section. Only my video blog entries will be here, no other videos will be. The last section, moblog, is a blog full of photos taken with my camera phone while I am on the go.
So, that’s it- the new site. Give me a little time to work out a few kinks, but feel free to leave me feedback and let me know what you think!
